These were the drivers behind this Sydney placemaking project.
Creating social topography through the installation of elements that foster safe spontaneous social interactions.
The curiosity of the installation in the given context lifts the curtain for pleasant, incidental social happenings.
The pilot site for this project is Bell Lane in Randwick Junction. The format of Bell Lane can be described as a 7m wide dual carriageway no through road with half metre wide curtilage pedestrian verge either side.
As Bell Lane is a no through road, its primary function is for garage access, light commercial deliveries, and pizza moped dispatch. The laneway receives a fair amount of sunlight year round due to its aspect, however it is highly uninviting of any pedestrian traffic due to the abundance of extensive blank facades and garage doors.

As the Adobe Aero Software is still in Beta, Place Supply is currently testing a range of other app free Augmented Reality softwares including SketchFab, Unity and Brio.
Below is a concept arrangement of the modular elements that function as planters and seating. The elements can be reorganised to suit the intended site. The arrangement in the 3D viewer below could be used to activate the centre of a public plaza.
This proof of concept project displays the capabilities of Place Supply for public realm environmental installation, community engagement, and general Augmented Reality design testing for landscape architecture.
